Iron is a mineral our bodies need. Iron is a part of all cells and does many things in our bodies. For example, iron carries oxygen from our lungs throughout our bodies. Having too little iron is called anemia. Iron also helps our muscles store and use oxygen and helps digest our food.
It comes from the structure of an iron atom. The way it is put together makes one side of the atom have a high negative charge....thats why it is magnetic. If you want to melt iron you have to get it to 2,800° Fahrenheit.Today it is 38F outside and my Mom is cooking a roast at 295F. It take a HOT tempeture to melt iron!
